HD in 3 easy steps

Step 1 a HD compliant television.

Picking the right television is one of the most difficult parts of this guide there are hundreds available choosing the right one can be difficult see our guide to buying the right television here.

Step 2 a HD source.

This part is easy high definition is now built into a menagerie of devices including blue-ray players, games consoles, computers, camcorders and lots of others.

A Couple of things to look out for.
Not all HD equipment is born equal keep an eye on the resolution (720p, 1080p) read more here. Check that the equipment you buy comes with the right cables (see step three)

Step 3 connecting it all up.

it is quite simple but can be a little tricky at times high-definition devices and televisions run on a HDMI interface this is a new version of scart. you will find that lots of a HD devices don’t come with HDMI cables so you many need to buy one of these separately.

Putting everything together...

Plug HDMI into TV

Plug the HDMI into the TV then plug the HDMI cable into your HD source.

Top Tip...

Unlike analogue cables (Phono and Scart) you do not need to spend a fortune on a HDMI Cable. This is because the signal is digital it just consists of ones and zeros so even if you buy a £50 cable you will not see a difference to a £4 cable.
